Taco Tuesday Fathers

The Friday Flyer talked to several fathers at the first Taco Tuesday and asked them what they like about raising their kids in Canyon Lake. Following are a few of their answers.

Taco Tuesday is being held from 5 to 8:30  p.m. every Tuesday through August 2. Buffet lines set up in the lower level of the Lodge offer tacos, enchiladas, tostada salads, hot dogs, hamburgers and pulled pork sandwiches, plus sides. At the indoor and portable bars, guests can purchase refillable Taco Tuesday logo cups with a margarita for $14, and $4 for refills.

The snack bar has Hawaiian Shave Ice with a dozen popular flavors, along with cotton candy, popcorn and caramel mocha Frappuccinos. The snack bar also sells wristbands ($3) for children to use the jumper slide.

Good Time Entertainment DJ Mike Shroyer provides music each week, along with his popular dance-along contests, trivia contests and other games. Next week’s Taco Tuesday on June 21 will feature a ski show by ShowCal Skiers.

Taco Tuesday can get very busy and parking can be tough to find in the first few weeks. However, to help those who have to park farther away, a golf cart shuttle service is available. The shuttle picks up and drops off on the Lighthouse/Canyon Club loop and at the Lodge entry.
