Father’s Day Tributes 2016

Dave-MartillaDave Martilla

Our dad is special because he goes out of his way to make sure we do our best. He drives us to school, practices, games, meets and other events that last for hours! He also cooks us delicious meals, like ribs and breakfast burritos.

Recently, he built several props for our “Titanic” themed school dance. Not only is he handy and a good chef, but our dad helps us with school work and takes care of our whole family. Thank you for everything that you do for us. We love you so much! Love, ABC

Dale-WeltyMy dad is special because he takes care of me by working very hard at his job. My dad always makes sure I am healthy by making sure I am always eating right and exercising. What I love most about my dad is he accepts me and who I am (I don’t like germs or like to eat meat). He never makes me feel bad or uncomfortable and always will try to accommodate me without making a scene.

My dad helps me be the person I want to be. My dad always plays tennis with me and takes me to my lessons. We have our special TV shows that just my dad and I watch together every week. We also go to the movies all the time together.

My dad always makes time for me. I think I have the best dad, I feel very lucky. My dad always tells me being kind and trying hard is just as important as any other success. My dad is very smart and a very kind person. He is always nice to everyone. I hope to be like my dad when I grow up. I am very proud of my dad.

Our dad is special because he is the funniest guy in the room. He never fails to give great life advice and always has something witty to say. He is a very sharp guy and a practical thinker. He is a lover, not a fighter, and he only wants what’s best for us. So that’s our story, and we’re sticking to it.

My dad was special because he always put his family and country first. He was a Vietnam Army Veteran and was so proud of that. He showed us children what a husband and father should be. Growing up he coached me and my siblings in all of our numerous sports. Then, as I started my own family, he was at all my children’s school and sporting events. He was such a huge presence in my family’s everyday life. I was so blessed to have a father like him. Not a moment goes by that I don’t miss him terribly.

My daddy is special because he is a super hero, he works hard and he spoils me! My daddy always gives me kisses. I like to go to Romporama with Daddy, and I like to steal his cereal while he’s eating it! Daddy calls me his “little buddy.” He’s my best friend! I love you Daddy, Henny

My dad is special because he has always worked so hard to provide for our family. He taught us to work hard and to never give up. He has always made it clear to us that nothing in life is free and if we wanted to have anything in life we had to work for it.

Thank you Dad for always being so tough on us and not giving up on us at the same time. I hope today you can look at Jason, Jess and me and be proud of how hard we all work and all we have achieved. I can say today that we are blessed beyond words. We love you. Happy Father’s Day! (Pictured with James is his granddaughter Makenna.)

My dad is special because he has always worked his hardest to give all of us the best life. He is always there when I need him no matter what he is doing, and his family has always come first. My dad is my biggest fan and I will always be his baby girl! Happy Father’s Day to the best dad and papa to Hendrix that I could ever ask for! Love, Mojo

How I wished I could be cuddled, held and tossed around by my father during my growing years as a child! How I wished I could see him opening the house door and would lift me up excitedly! But never had I experienced all of that loving closeness from my father for he died in his sleep when I was just a 9-month-old baby. I never even knew how he looked except for the big framed handsome picture of him hanging on the wall of our shack home.

But his spirit lives with me. He left me a treasure, a living legacy and that’s his passion in the kitchen world. My father was an owner-chef of a Chinese restaurant in our hometown’s public market. He left me a priceless gift and that is my inborn talent in the culinary world!

I feel him in me. I feel him every time I am in the kitchen, whispering to me how I should do a certain dish, delicately-prepared and beautifully-presented!

My dad is special because he works very hard for me. Since my daddy is in the U.S. Navy, he is gone a lot, but I know he is always thinking about me. I love how my daddy makes me laugh all the time. He always tickles me and pushes me in the swing. I love my daddy very much.

My dad is special because he loves us kids so much. Even when he is busy he will still play football with me. Whenever I am upset, he will hug me and his hugs are special because I always feel better afterwards. My dad may look intimidating, but really he is a big teddy bear. Love, Boo (Rebecca Boshard, 12)

My dad is special because, when I was little, I burned my foot and he joined the Army so I could get all the surgeries that I needed. He is the best dad and I love him! Love Ryann

Our dad is special because of how hard he works to support our family. Even though he might not always be at home, we know that he always loves us. Whenever he can, he will leave his work early to come and support us play baseball or at other events and activities. He is a great role model to both of us and we hope to be as successful as he is. We love our dad. Happy Father’s Day!

My dad is special because he’s my backbone and one of my best friends. As everyone knows, best friends do fight sometimes; but in the end, they’re always there for each other no matter what. Best friends help you through the worst of times and the best of times. They help you cherish amazing moments, and help you battle what problems you may face.

My dad has not only helped me fight the demons that I have faced, but helped me prepare for my future. Sometimes you hear the saying, “walking in someone’s footsteps,” but I’m making that happen. Thank you for being my best friend through the good and the bad, the ups and the downs, and never giving up on me.

You’re a true superhero, and I can’t wait to show you what you’ve taught me my whole life, the life lessons, the recipes, the jokes, and the deep talks. Thank you, Dad. I love you and happy Father’s Day.
