Step ‘through the looking glass’ tomorrow!

Is your child looking for a ‘Wonderland’ experience this summer? “No experience is necessary. Everyone is guaranteed to get a fun and wacky part in the show,” says Director Ilene Moore. She is looking for a huge cast of children to perform this show with its many singing, dancing and speaking roles.

Organizers describe “Wonderland” as a silly adaptation of Lewis Carroll’s “Through the Looking Glass.” With hip-hopping music, it’s an upbeat, coming-of-age story.

Expect lots of parts for boys and girls, such rockin sockin Humpty Dumpty; Tweedly Dee & Tweedly Dum; sassy and evil Red Queen; sweet, but confused White Queen; Alice of course; madder than a hatter Hatta; Red and White King; Red and White Knight; many singing and dancing Chess Pieces; a Train Conductor; star-struck tourists, a gospel group called The Responsibilities, and many fans.

Children from kindergarten through 8th grade are welcome. Kids K through 2nd grade are scheduled to audition from 11 a.m. to noon, or they may simply sign up and be cast without an audition. All other grades will audition from noon to 3. Bring a photograph.

Show CDs are available for $3. A CLCT membership fee of $15 is required for one adult and one child under the age of 18. Additional children are $10. There is also production fee of $130 per performer, which includes the use of costumes, a cast T-shirt and a cast party.

Those who desire to audition for a special role should prepare a one-minute, upbeat karaoke-style song with CD accompaniment (no vocals and no rap). Musical theater music is preferred.

Show dates are July 22, 23 and 24, with an additional showing at the Oasis in Menifee on July 30. For more information, contact Ilene at 909-239-1177, Heather Gotoski at 951-204-1968, or Jaimie Woodward at 951-377-6861.
