Golf News – Women’s Golf Club

The Women’s Golf Club invites all members of the Men’s, Women’s and 9ers to sign up to play in the Jack and Jill Tournament on July 9. Players are invited to pick their own foursome. Signup sheets are in the Golf Pro Shop. The cost is $35 per person. For more information, contact Lou DeYoung, Donna Nunes, or Maxine Whalen.

Garden Club

The June Garden Club meeting will be Wednesday, June 15, when members will travel to Water Wise Botanicals in Bonsall. Lunch will follow. Meet at the Lodge parking lot at 9:15 a.m. All Canyon Lakers are invited to join and are asked to RSVP to Joy Call at 951-733-8705.

Canyon Lake Association of Men

All CLAMs members and their families are invited to the annual family picnic at Holiday Harbor on Wednesday, June 15, at 6 p.m. Food and drinks will be provided to thank everyone for their work this year. For more information, call Bud Hammer at 951-244-6315.

Woman’s Club

The next Woman’s Club luncheon meeting is June 15, at 10 a.m. at the Lodge. It will includes the installation of new officers, scholarship and philanthropic awards, and recognition of committees and past presidents.  Everyone is invited to wear red to celebrate the next club president, Jan May.

The lunch menu will be a cup of chicken tortilla soup, roll, shredded chicken tostada bowl and lemon cake. There is an option of chicken breast salad. The deadline for reservations/cancellations was June 6. Vendors who would like to participate may contact Bonnie Boniti-Wade at 951-244-8717 or Vicki Young at 951-733-3673.

Membership renewals are now due. Dues are $20 and checks should be made payable to CLWC. Renewal forms will be available at the June meeting.

The Woman’s Club is a philanthropic organization dedicated to helping others in the community. The club also gives scholarships to local students to help them with college.  For more information, contact Membership Chair Sue Collins at 951-246-2773.

Art Association

The Canyon Lake Art Association will have a potluck party on Tuesday, June 28, at 6 p.m. at the Senior Center. There will not be a demonstrator. Organizers will provide the plates, eating utensils, wine, coffee and water. Members are asked to bring a potluck dish to share or donate $5 to the club. Table decorations will be for sale; free tickets will be given to members for door prizes.

This meeting will honor the current board and committee members; an election will be held for new board members for the new year beginning in September. Dues of $25 can be paid at this meeting. This will be a time to get reacquainted with regular members and to meet new members.

The Monday Night Ad-hoc Painters will continue to meet each week from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Senior Center. Everyone is welcome.

Family Matters Club

The next monthly meeting will be at Taco Tuesday on June 28. The group will host a pirate treasure dig and sand castle-building contest on Sunset Beach. Members are invited to bring their own dinner. Activities will take place between 5:30 and 7 p.m., with prizes and judging taking place at 7:15.
