Tennis Club enjoys Shadow Mountain weekend

The Canyon Lake Tennis Club held its annual Palm Desert weekend at the Shadow Mountain Resort May 13 to 15. The weekend included member tennis tournaments on Saturday and Sunday, along with a cocktail party, potluck and fun at the pool.

Team C, pictured, won the team tennis tournament on Saturday. Winners were Cindy Domann, Peggy Basubas, Marilyn Stovall, Barbara Howard, Mike Rhodes, Hal Graves, Brian Wood, Rick Hauser, Jim Domann and Phil Hawgood. In Sunday’s tournament, Jeananne Woodman and Kevin Stovall took the prizes for winning the most matches.

The club’s next tournament is the Celebrate Wimbledon Team Mixer, scheduled for Saturday, June 11, at 8 a.m. Players are urged to wear white. The cost to participate is $12, and the deadline to sign up is Wednesday, June 8, by contacting Peggy Basubas at 951-719-7949.

The Tennis Club invites residents to come out for Social Play on Mondays and Fridays at 8 a.m. It is open to all levels of players and is a way to meet other players without committing to a schedule. For more information, contact Dave Harrigan at 746-3460 or davenjean@canyontennis.net.
