Woman’s Club Fashion Show a lovely success

The Lodge was alive with the sound of movies last Friday, April 30 – along with the chatter and laughter of women enjoying a day of fun and fashion. The theme of this year’s Woman’s Club Fashion Show was “At the Movies”

In addition to the show, the event featured a silent auction, theme baskets, grand prize, door prizes and a paper dress exhibit. Entertainment was provided by singer Aprile DeAnne and lunch with a no-host bar was served by the Lighthouse Restaurant.

Fashion Show Chairs Lyne Hall and Alise Lawrence and their committees spent months preparing for the show, with several pre-parties leading up to the event.

The Holiday Bay Room glowed with elaborate table settings and decorations from famous movies such as “Gone With the Wind” and “The Wizard of Oz.” Some women even dressed in costume from the movie of their table, such as Marilyn Monroe in her famous pink gown from “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” and as Audrey Hepburn in her iconic little black dress in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.”

More than 200 were in attendance as Canyon Lakers modeled fashions provided by local vendors. According to Club President Jan May, the profits from this event will go a long way towards the club’s annual goal of $30,000 to $40,000 for philanthropic endeavors
