Wakeboard Club

The Wakeboard Club will host a Learn to Ride Day on Sunday, May 15, starting at 9 a.m. in the North Ski Area. The day is devoted to enlightening anyone who wants to learn about wakeboarding, wakeskating and safe boating. The cost is $15.

Other Learn to Ride Days are scheduled for June 26 and July 24. Wakeboard competitions will be held July 16, August 27 and September 18. For more information, visit canyonlakewake.com.

Paddle Club

The Canyon Lake Paddle Club will be starting up its monthly paddles on the lake next month, beginning May 5. Anyone with a kayak or canoe is welcome. Paddlers start at Diamond Point and go through the tunnel to the Lodge and back. The club meets the first Thursday of every month. While waiting for everyone to arrive, members enjoy social hour from 5 to 5:45 p.m. Paddle time is from 5:45 to 7.

Jr. Women’s Club

The Canyon Lake Jr. Women’s Club will be holding its next meeting on Wednesday, May 4, at 7 p.m. at 23113 Blue Bird Dr. Anyone interested in meeting the ladies of the JWC and/or obtaining information on joining the club is welcome to attend. Woman’s Club

The next Woman’s Club luncheon meeting is on May 18, at 10 a.m. at the Lodge. Ladies are invited to come for a social hour and shopping at vendor displays, beginning at 9 a.m. “Get your Cowgirl On” ladies. Instructors from the Temecula Stampede are going to teach everyone to dance country style.

Lunch will include a crispy chicken wrap with a side of fruit, house salad, dinner rolls and assorted cheesecake slices. Optional chicken salad available. Mexican Train Players

A new club for Canyon Lakers, the Mexican Train Players Club, will meet every Friday at 12:30 p.m. in the Senior Center. Beginners are welcome. For more information, call Marlys Shilling at 951-244-4241.

Kids Club

During the school year, Kids Club meetings are held every Tuesday and Thursday, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., in the Sunset Beach Room at the Lodge. Kids Club is a program in which young children and their parents or grandparents enjoy a morning of crafts, music, exercise, games, sports and a snack for just $2 per session. CLAMS

The Canyon Lake Association of Men (CLAMS) is open to all men in Canyon Lake. The next dinner get-together will be on Wednesday, May 18, at the Canyon Lake Country Club. Social hour is at 5:30 and a pulled pork dinner at 6. Volunteers are needed to help with the CLAMS’ Bratwurst Booth at Fiesta Day on Saturday, May 28. Pinochle Club

Attention Pinochle players! The Pinochle Club meets every Thursday at 6 p.m. in the Senior Center. There are munchies between games. New players as well as old-timers are welcomed to come play and win prizes. For more information, call Marlys Shilling at 951-244-4241.

CLAWS

All Canyon Lake women are invited to attend the Canyon Lake Association of Women (CLAWS) group bunco on the second Wednesday of the month in the Magnolia Room at the Country Club. The cost is $10 per player. Participants are asked to bring canned and packaged food for the community cupboard. Game begins at 3 p.m.,; arrive 15 mins early to pick up game card and sign in. Car Club

The Car Club holds meetings the first Thursday of each month at the Lodge. Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by the general meeting at 6:30. Learn about upcoming events, listen to guest speakers and share automotive experiences. Finger foods will be served and a 50/50 drawing will round out the evening. Yacht Club

Meetings of the Yacht Club are held on the fourth Thursday of the month at the Lodge. Boat ownership is not a criterion for membership. Members enjoy fun events throughout the year, including the Moonlight Cruise, Progressive Dinner, Lake Clean-Up and more. Bible Club

The Canyon Lake Bible Club meets on Thursdays, at 6:30 p.m. in the chapel at Canyon Lake Community Church. Bible facilitator Richard Cunha is leading the group from the book, “The Fifth Gospel: Christ in Isaiah.”

Roadrunners

Roadrunners RV Club dinner meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month. Social hour begins at 5 p.m. and dinner at 6. Twirlers Square Dance Club

The Twirlers square dance club meets Wednesdays at the Lodge starting at 6:15 p.m. Experienced dancers are encouraged to come to the plus level workshop from 6:15 to 7, then stay to help the new class members learn to square dance.

The Twirlers hold a regular square dance the second Sunday of each month, with advanced round dancing starting at 1:30 p.m., regular round dancing at 2 and squares at 2:30. For more information, contact Bill or Jackie Brown at 951-694-3650 or Rosalie Nusser at 951-244-0672.

Water Ski Club

The Ski Club is comprised of water skiers of all ages and levels, from beginners to advanced. The club hosts several ski competitions and community events, including Breakfast with Santa, Polar Bear Day, Learn to Ski Days and the Fiesta Day Ski Show.

The Canyon Lake Ski Club began in 1970 and is the largest 3-event USA Water Ski sanctioned club in the United States. For membership and general information, visit www.canyonlakeskiclub.com.

Canyon Lake Association of Men

In addition to monthly get-togethers, CLAMS does philanthropic work in Canyon Lake. The organization has been in existence for the men of the Canyon Lake community for the past 43 years. If interested in joining the group, contact Bud Hanner at 951-244-6315.

Bosom Buddies

The Bosom Buddies mission is to educate, inspire and support newly diagnosed breast cancer patients during their breast cancer journey. Tennis Club

Art Association

Meetings are held at 6 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month in the Senior Center and are open to the public. Guests or new members are welcome to come socialize and sit in on a monthly artist demonstrator. CLAA has painters, digital artists, photographers, ceramicists, sculptors, fusion glass artists, etc. Membership is for individuals 18 and older, but all are welcome to attend and bring their art to share.

The Canyon Lake Art Association was formed in 1976 with the primary purpose of promoting appreciation of the visual arts in the community, encouraging study in the field of art and providing exhibits and programs for local artists. Demonstrations highlight each meeting from September through June. June is the annual reception and exhibit.

Family Matters Club

The Family Matters Club is open to all residents, young and old, kids or no kids. Monthly meetings are held the first day of the month, unless otherwise noted, and revolve around a fun theme with speakers, games, prize drawings, crafts, snack and social time. Locations vary.
