The Canyon Lake Art Association invites residents to mark their calendars for the “Art at the Lake” show at the Senior Center on Saturday and Sunday, May 21 and 22, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.
Original artwork will be on display and for sale. This event is open to the public and will include refreshments, opportunity drawing and silent auction.
Artists are wanted to exhibit and sell their artwork at this event. Membership in CLAA is required. To register, visit the April general meeting.
The Canyon Lake Art Association welcomes new members! Artists are invited to socialize, make new friends, network, share their artwork, learn tips and techniques from monthly demonstrators, create new art pieces during Monday Night Open Studio, and find venues to exhibit and sell artwork.
General meetings are held at 6 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month in the Senior Center and are open to the public. Guests are welcome to sit in on the monthly artist demonstrator. There are signup sheets at the general meetings for club members wishing to hang their work at the Senior Center, Pepe’s Restaurant and other CLAA events.
The next monthly meeting is Tuesday, April 26, featuring demonstrator Carol Landry. Carol paints primarily in oil; however, she enjoys painting in acrylics and has been refining her techniques over the past five years. She will demonstrate the use of color, light, shadows, temperature, etc. while doing a 16×20 loosely painted rooster in acrylic. There will be a drawing for the rooster at the end of the meeting. Learn more about her work at www.carollandryfineart.com.
Members are encouraged to bring a food item to share. CLAA has painters, digital artists, photographers, ceramicists, sculptors, fusion glass artists, etc. Membership is for individuals 18 and older, but all are welcome to attend and bring their art to share.
