After Lunch Bunch

A hole in one in golf is a rarity; it’s just one stroke, and it’s mostly luck. An eagle, on the other hand, requires two great shots along with a little luck.

On April 1, (no joke), Jorge Sanchez accomplished this task by scoring an eagle on hole 13. Congratulations Jorge!

The format for last week’s After Lunch Bunch game was Partners Best Ball and all players played from the green tees. Results were as follows:

A Flight – 1st: Dave Nickel and Jorge Sanchez, 56; 2nd: Neal Wagerle and  Rich Tucker, 56

B Flight – 1st: Marv Tweedy and Jim Musser, 49; 2nd: Joe Strong and Bob Clow, 51

Skins winners were Chuck Hudson, Neal Wagerle, Joe Strong, Jorge Sanchez, Tom Fuhrman, Jim Musser and Marv Tweedy. Next week’s game will be the 1-2-3 Waltz.

The After Lunch Bunch is a weekly Friday game for any male golfer with a handicap. Tee-off is around 10 a.m. Sign up between 8:30 and 9:15 a.m. in the Magnolia Room, or by phone at 249-4565 or 237-6102.

The entry fee is $5; there is an optional skins game for an additional $5.

Family Golf Club

Membership in the Family Golf Club is open to all golfers – men, women and youths are welcome to participate. The club’s official golf day is Wednesday, at approximately 11:30 a.m. Some members schedule golf days on Mondays, Fridays or Saturdays at 11:30.

The tournament director works closely with Golf Pro Pat Kemball and his staff to assure that tournaments are balanced. Organizers say all members enjoy a fun and friendly atmosphere.
