Winners of Junior Tennis Tournament announced

The Canyon Lake Tennis Club sponsored a Junior Tennis Tournament on Sunday, March 20 at the Tennis Center, with several spectators coming out for support and to enjoy the warm day. Coach Bobby Kielty, assisted by his wife Meredith, ran the tennis tournament, which was divided into two flights. Prizes were awarded to the top three players in each flight. Winners were as follows:

1st Flight – 1st: Katarina Mathews; 2nd: Keeley Arendt: 3rd: Hallelujah Koricho

2nd Flight – 1st: Haley Kielty; 2nd: Kalen Kielty; 3rd: Amen Koricho.

The Tennis Club’s next adult tournament is the Spring Doubles Mixer on Saturday, April 9. at 8 a.m. The fee to participate is $12 per member, and the deadline to sign up is Wednesday, April 6, by contacting Peggy Basubas at 951-719-7949. The club won’t be hosting a tournament in May in lieu of the annual Shadow Mountain Resort tennis club weekend in Palm Desert May 13 to 15.

The Tennis Club invites residents to come out for Social Play on Mondays and Fridays at 9 a.m. It is open to all levels of players and is a way to meet other players without committing to a schedule. For more information, contact Dave Harrigan at 951-746-3460 or davenjean@canyontennis.net.
