Bicyclists spent Sunday morning on the road

The weather couldn’t have been more perfect for the 5th annual Tour de Canyon Lake last Sunday, March 20, starting at 9 a.m. at the Lodge.

Spokesperson Karin Cassidy says, “It was great for cycling, and we had about 20 riders.The Canyon Lake Triathlon Club would like to welcome our new members and thank all who participated for their generous contributions of pet food, supplies and cash donated to Animal Friends of the Valleys!”

The club’s first triathlon event of the year will be held on April 24  at the Canyon Lake Lodge. It is a Super Sprint Reverse Triathlon featuring a 1.5-mile run, followed by a 6-mile bike ride to the East Gate and a 3-lap swim in the pool.

Karin says, “This is an excellent opportunity for beginners to “tri” the sport and a great early season warm-up for seasoned athletes. All are welcome to participate and there is no charge to club members.”

The annual Triathlon Club membership is $30 for individuals or $40 for families – the best deal in the sport of triathlon! Dues can be paid at the event.
