Voss and Batinich take 1st Place in Bassmasters tournament

The Canyon Lake Bassmasters held their March tournament on Saturday, March 5. Eleven teams completed in a zone format where the lake is divided into four sections. Each team had to fish in all four sections on a rotating schedule for two hours.

The team of Terry Voss and Danny Batinich, pictured, won 1st place with 17.74 pounds; 2nd place went to Kirk Beardsley and Rich Tucker with 15.18 pounds, and 3rd place honors went to the team of Joe Merrill and Jude Donahoe with 15.08. Big Fish of the tournament was a 5.46-pounder caught by Kirk.

The Bassmasters Club is active in many community events and hosts the annual Kids Fishing Derby each August.
