Meet your neighbor, Canyon Lake resident Shannon Coombs. Shannon was born and raised in Tupper Lake, New York. She move to Washington when she was 21 years old. From there she moved to Texas for six months and then on to San Diego, California. “My husband at the time was in the military, so we had to move a lot,” says Shannon.

Before moving to Canyon Lake in August 2011, Shannon resided in Temecula for 21 years. She has one daughter, 22-year-old Paige, who currently is in college and waiting to be accepted into a radiologist program.

Shannon is a self-proclaimed animal lover. She’s rescued many animals over the years. Her current pack includes Bella, a 2-year-old Chihuahua; Lucky, a 17-year—old black Labrador and Cocker Spaniel mix; and Jazz, a 15-year-old longhaired cat. Her dog Lucy and Australian Shepard cattle dog recently passed away. “I’m getting ready to adopted another dog,” she says.

Shannon has worked as a loan officer for the past 15 years. For the past two years she’s worked at Guild, a mortgage company in Wildomar. “My passion is to be a part of a family’s dream of owning a home,” says Shannon.

Before choosing a career as a loan officer, Shannon worked with children and developmentally-challenged adults. “I was managing a home for developmentally challenged adults when I decided I wanted to work with children. I went back to school and earned a degree in Child Development. I worked as a preschool teacher and then as an assistant director at a preschool,” says Shannon.

She is a member of both the Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce and the Wildomar Chamber of Commerce. She is also the president of the Trusted Business Partners Canyon Lake chapter. Trusted Business Partners is a networking group that builds long-lasting relationships by providing premium networking opportunities to generate qualified business leads for its members.

Shannon started the Canyon Lake chapter in January 2016. “It’s been the fastest growing chapter Trusted Business Partners has had to date,” she says. The group meets on Tuesdays, from 12 to 1 p.m. at Pepe’s Mexican Restaurant in the Canyon Lake Towne Center.

Shannon is a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan. She is one of five people who run the ”Steelers Inland Empire” sports group. The group has approximately 150 members. Shannon says, “We meet at Pepe’s Restaurant for every regular season and post season Steelers game. We give away prizes during the game, have special guest appearances and plan group trips.”

The special man in Shannon’s life for the past five years is Dave Garcia, owner of Canyon Fitness Center and a 22-year resident. “He is the reason I moved to Canyon Lake. I wanted to be closer to him,” says Shannon. The couple enjoys working out, hiking, attending wine tasting events, riding their Harley and country music. “Stagecoach is a must,” says Shannon.
