Residents invited to Art Assoc. ‘Paint & Wine’

Paint the piece at right at ‘Paint & Wine.’ Kristene Robertson is one of several Canyon Lake artists to have her work on display at The Merc in Temecula.

The Canyon Lake Art Association invites residents to a “Paint & Wine” event this evening, March 18, from 4 to 7 p.m. at 30056 Clearwater Dr. in Canyon Lake. The cost of $30 includes one glass of wine, appetizers and a canvas for painting. To reserve a spot, call 951-244-4800 or 818-522-9920.

The next general meeting will be on Tuesday, March 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Senior Center. The demonstrating artist will be Eric Johnson, a longtime professional airbrush artist. Guests or new members are welcome to come to the general meetings every fourth Tuesday of the month, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Senior Center.

The club is not limited to painters. It also has digital artists, photographers, ceramicists, sculptors, fusion glass artists, etc. Membership in CLAA is for individuals 18 years of age and older, but all are welcome to attend and bring their art to share.

Local Art Displays

Canyon Lake artists have art on display at The Merc in Old Town Temecula through March 29. The Canyon Lake Art Association, along with the Temecula Valley Art League, is raising money to be used for high school art student scholarships in the art exhibit. The Merc is located at 42051 Main St. Hours vary and are posted on location.

The artwork of famed local muralist Robin Golden is on display through March 28 at Pepe’s Restaurant in the Canyon Lake Towne Center. For hours, visit www.pepescanyonlake.com.

The exhibit by the Canyon Lake Art Association currently on display in the Senior Center features works by Christy Bruce, Inez Miller and Therese Daniels.
