Ladies golf travel club wins annual competition

Members of the San Bernardino & Riverside Travel Club recently finished another year of competition in Division A, beating San Bernardino with a score of 425 to 332.

Spokesperson Ura Furry congratulates all the ladies who participated this year.

At the Christmas tournament at Jurupa Hills Country Club, four ladies were awarded prizes for having the most points in the Canyon Lake division.

Phyllis Weed came in 1st place with a total of 41 points. Linda Hudson placed 2nd with 37 points. Betty Henry came in 3rd with 31 points. Anita Fairfield came in Over The Field with 64 points.

The game was 2 Best Balls of the Foursome and three Canyon Lake ladies were on three of the winning teams.

First place was Ura Furry’s team with 119; 2nd place was Dawn Haggerty’s team with 121; and 7th place was Sandy Coleman’s team with 125.

Ura will be the group’s representative again for 2016; a tournament will be held in Canyon Lake in April.

Ura stated, “I look forward to a great year of golf with all of you who have signed up again.

If you haven’t signed up, you can join any time during the year for $15. You must have an established Index of 40.4. All members must play to no more than a 40 handicap.” Ura adds, “Remember, we are playing golf to meet new ladies and have fun. Thanks for a good year.”
