After Lunch Bunch

The ALB’s 35th year of running their weekly game is about to come to a close, and club spokesperson Jim Magill says, “It just doesn’t seem possible that we have been conducting this After Lunch Bunch for that long.

When we started this Friday get-together 35 years ago, Jimmy Carter was our President and Jerry Brown was our Governor. What? Jerry is still around?”

Last week’s game was an Individual Tin Whistle with two flights and the following results:

A Flight – 1st: John Hermanns, 19; 2nd: Bob Stinson, 18; 3rd: Jeff Roach, 18

B Flight – 1st Dennis Franks, 23; 2nd: Jim Paulis, 22; 3rd: Pete Mortensen, 22

Skins winners were Jim Paulis, Dennis Franks, John Hermanns and Jeff Roach.

Next week’s game will be Two Best Balls and Three on the Par 5’s; the committee will select the teams.

The weekly game is open to all Canyon Lakers with an established handicap.

Signups take place on Friday mornings in the Magnolia Room, or by phone at 249-4565 or 237-6102. Tee time is 10 a.m. The entry fee is $5; there is an optional skins game for an additional $5.
