Women’s Golf Christmas Tourney
The annual Christmas Tournament and Board of Directors Installation is scheduled for December 9. The 9-hole shotgun scramble will begin at 8:30 a.m. Golfers can select their own team of six players and sign up in the Golf Pro Shop. Family Golf and 9ers are invited to play. The entry fee is $35 per player. Lunch-only is available for $25. The festivities begin at the Lodge immediately after golf. The last day to sign up is December 1.
The Women’s Golf Club meets regularly on Tuesdays to play 18 holes of golf. CLWGC is a member of the Women’s Southern California Golf Association, responsible for handicapping services for members. After Lunch Bunch
Twenty-eight players enjoyed last week’s game with temperatures in the mid-80s and an Odd & Even format. Three new players were welcomed to the group: Ulf Sandegren, Ulf Grefelt and Darrell Harzell. The two Ulf’s are Menifee residents who took advantage of the new membership availabilities and Darrell is a new Canyon Lake resident. Winners were as follows:
1st – Ulf Sandegren, George Lysak, Bill Levis and Pete Mortensen, 165
2nd – Jim Magill, Ulf Grefelt, David Hoekstra and Fran Pothier, 167
3rd – Hugh Wagoner, Chuck Furry, Harry Larson and Dennis Franks, 168
Skins winners were Oscar Rowland, Bill Levis, Lee Lilly and Chuck Hudson.
Next week’s game will be Partner’s Best Ball; players can pick their own foursome.
The weekly game is open to all Canyon Lakers with an established handicap. Signups take place on Friday mornings in the Magnolia Room, or by phone at 249-4565 or 237-6102. Tee time is 10 a.m. The entry fee is $5; there is an optional skins game for an additional $5.
The Men’s Golf Club is a member of the Southern California Golf Association (SCGA) and holds regular open meetings the first Wednesday of each month in the Magnolia Room at the Country Club.
The 9ers Golf Club is a member of the Women’s Southern California Golf Association. The group tees off at 10 a.m. on Thursdays for nine holes of golf. Any level golfer is welcome, including those who’ve only had a few lessons. Be in the Magnolia Room 30 minutes before tee time. Family Golf Club
The Family Golf Club is a member of the Southern California Golf Association (SCGA). It holds open meetings the third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Magnolia Room at the Country Club. Members play Wednesday afternoons. Applications for the Family Golf Club are available at clfamilygolf.com or contact Mary Leathley at 951-244-0114.
