Women’s Golf Christmas Tourney

The annual Christmas Tournament and Board of Directors Installation is scheduled for December 9. The 9-hole shotgun scramble will begin at 8:30 a.m. Golfers can select their own team of six players and sign up in the Golf Pro Shop. Family Golf and 9ers are invited to play. The entry fee is $35 per player. Lunch-only is available for $25. The festivities begin at the Lodge immediately after golf. The last day to sign up is December 1.

The Jack and Jill Turkey Shoot, “Wanted,” is scheduled for tomorrow, November 21, with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.

The Women’s Golf Club meets regularly on Tuesdays to play 18 holes of golf. CLWGC is a member of the Women’s Southern California Golf Association, responsible for handicapping services for members. Applications are available in the Pro Shop.

After Lunch Bunch

“Looking for a friendly game of golf? Look no further. There is a group teeing off every Friday morning at 10 a.m. and all Canyon Lakers with an established handicap are invited to join in on the fun,” says Jim Magill. “Heck, we’re so friendly that even if you don’t have a handicap, we’ll give you a temporary one. The name of the game is the ‘After Lunch Bunch’ and we’ve been in operation for 35 years.”

Last week’s game was Individual Tin Whistle with 25 players. Winners were as follows:

A Flight – 1st: Jim Paulis, 16; 2nd: Jim Musser, 12; 3rd: Bobby Gunter, 11

B Flight – Pete Mortensen, 16; 2nd: Jim Magill, 12; 3rd: Chuck Hudson, 9

Skins winners were Jim Paulis and Chuck Hudson.

Next week’s game will be 2 Best Balls of Foursome; the committee will pick the teams.

The weekly game is open to all Canyon Lakers with an established handicap. Signups take place on Friday mornings in the Magnolia Room, or by phone at 249-4565 or 237-6102. Tee time is 10 a.m. The entry fee is $5; there is an optional skins game for an additional $5.

Men’s Golf

The Men’s Golf Club is a member of the Southern California Golf Association (SCGA) and holds regular open meetings the first Wednesday of each month in the Magnolia Room at the Country Club.

9ers Golf

The 9ers Golf Club is a member of the Women’s Southern California Golf Association. The group tees off at 10 a.m. on Thursdays for nine holes of golf. Any level golfer is welcome, including those who’ve only had a few lessons. Be in the Magnolia Room 30 minutes before tee time. Family Golf Club

The Family Golf Club is a member of the Southern California Golf Association (SCGA). It holds open meetings the third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Magnolia Room at the Country Club.  Members play Wednesday afternoons.
