Five homes to be featured in Holiday Home Tour

Canyon Lakers who look forward to seeing beautifully decorated homes each year at the holidays will want to mark their calendars for the Woman’s Club Holiday Home Tour on Sunday, December 6.

The theme of this year’s tour is “There’s No Place Like Home…For the Holidays.” Tickets are $15 and are 100 percent tax-deductible. They can be purchased at the POA Office, Pack Wrap and Post, Coldwell Banker and Just 4 Gifts in the Towne Center.

On the day of the tour, ticket-holders can stop by the Lodge to pick up their tour map, have a cup of coffee and sample baked goods. The Lodge bar opens at 9 a.m.; the home tour starts at 10. Also at the Lodge, vendors will be selling a festive array of goods and there will be an opportunity drawing for decorated trees and wreaths.

This week’s featured home is currently listed by Hanson McCoy, Inc. and beautifully decorated for the holidays.

The 1987 Village Way home is situated on the Main Lake with a view of the Lodge and Lighthouse. It is completely remodeled, featuring 4,650 sq. ft. of living space that includes five and four and one-half baths. The 14-foot ceilings enhance the massiveness of entry into the great room.

The multipurpose design offers a cozy area to curl up in front of a fireplace and watch movies on the flat screen mounted above the mantle; or stretch the legs out in a big chair in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows and watch the tranquility of the lake with boats cruising by.

Adjacent to the formal dining room is a stunning kitchen with high end appliances. The white marble Island offers the perfect advantage to socialize, take in the view, or watch football while whipping up those Christmas cookies. Below the garden window, sits a stainless steel country sink with a glass backsplash that is surrounded by white granite counters.

The master suite on the main floor has sweeping views of the lake and all the features one expects in such a high quality of remodel. However, the “Oprah Winfrey” style bathtub situated under a sparkling chandelier and the cedar-lined walk-in closet are truly a cut above.

The lower level provides a second great room, wet bar and large balcony, again maximizing the spectacular view of the Main Lake. This large lower level also has three bedrooms and two bathrooms.
