Five houses will shine in Holiday Home Tour

Canyon Lakers who look forward to seeing beautifully decorated homes each year at the holidays will want to mark their calendars for the Woman’s Club Holiday Home Tour on Sunday, December 6.

The theme of this year’s tour is “There’s No Place Like Home…For the Holidays.” Tickets are $15 and are 100 percent tax-deductible. They can be purchased at the POA Office, Pack Wrap and Post, Coldwell Banker and Just 4 Gifts in the Towne Center.

On the day of the tour, ticket-holders can stop by the Lodge to pick up their tour map, have a cup of coffee and sample baked goods. The Lodge (and bar) open at 9 a.m.; the home tour starts at 10. Also at the Lodge, vendors will be selling a festive array of goods and there will be an opportunity drawing for decorated trees and wreaths.

Organizers say this year’s tour is comprised of different sized homes beautifully decorated for the holidays. The homes will be featured this week and in the weeks leading up to the tour. This week’s home belongs to new residents Mr. and Mrs. Schlosser.

Their Mediterranean-style home has a double front door entry surrounded by four two-story columns. Inside there is an ironwork staircase and a step down into a sunken lounge where there is a beautifully decorated Christmas tree. Walk through the formal dining room to the cozy kitchen with views of the surrounding hills, and on into the family room with a floor to ceiling river rock fireplace.

Step out onto the balcony to look down to the gorgeous Mediterranean pool and spa and take in the fabulous view. A few steps onwards brings one to a viewing room that has an ambient lighting system that will be on display during the tour.
