Renaissance Faire is Saturday at Holiday Harbor

Knights and ladies, blokes and wenches of all ages are invited to the inaugural Renaissance Faire tomorrow, October 17, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Holiday Harbor.

Everyone is invited to come in costume and enjoy a live band, along with games, contests, prize drawings, vendors and food and beer sales.

In the upper park, hosted by the Jr. Women’s Club, adults will will have mock jousting, archery, knife throwing and cornhole, as well as an alcohol booth, live band, vendor booths, hair-braiding and fortune-telling.

In the children’s area (lower park), hosted by the Family Matters Club, children can purchase a $10 wristband to enjoy games, crafts, photo prop booth, tattoos, a castle jumper and dragon slide. They will make their own crowns, shields, swords, sand art and knight masks. Games will include archery, jousting and dragon-catching, and tickets can be earned to redeem prizes.

Food for purchase from the Family Matters Club will consist of beef stew and biscuit, turkey legs, chicken drumsticks, ribs, a la carte or with sides of beans and corn or mac n cheese, jumbo beef hot dogs, bottled water and sodas.
