Halloween to be theme of coming Library activities

No one visited the sad octopus in her garden under the sea last Friday, so Miss Ginny Furnish will offer the “Octopus Garden Under the Sea” Craft and Story Time Program again on November 9. In the meantime, kids will learn about Halloween fun and safety at Miss Ginny’s story time next Friday, October 23, at 11:30 a.m. in the City Multi-purpose Room/Council Chamber. The program is for ages 3 to 5 and includes stories, music, movement and a craft.

Then on Saturday, October 24, the Library will be one of the stops on the Parade of Frights Treasure Map. For those who have never visited the Library, this will be a good opportunity to see what is offered and to meet some of the staff and volunteers.

Toddler Story Time for ages  0-3 will meet Monday, at 11 a.m., and the next Spanish Time program will meet Monday, October 19, at 3 p.m.

The Library’s Knitting Program is helping participants understand the knitting instructions for special gifts for the holidays. This social/educational program supports both beginner and experienced knitters who choose to venture into untried territory. The program meets at 11 a.m. every Wednesday until mid-November when they take a holiday vacation until mid-January.

The Canyon Lake Library is a branch of the Riverside County Library System accepting returns and cards from other area libraries.  Located in the Canyon Lake City Hall, it is outside the gates, available to a wide community of service. Library hours are Monday, 10 to 7; Wednesday and Friday, 10 to 6; and Saturday, 10-3. The Library is closed Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
