Win a boat or golf cart in Veterans Day Tourney

Residents are invited to play in the 3rd annual Veterans Day Golf Tournament on Monday, November 9, at the Canyon Lake Golf Course. This is a non-profit fundraiser for wounded service members through the Wounded Warriors Project. The entry fee is $50, which includes green fee, golf cart and range balls. Active duty personnel play free of charge.

Signups begin at 7 a.m., with and pre-event activities starting at 8 and tee off at 9.

No handicap? No problem! Organizers say the “Step Aside Scramble” format works as follows: Players A, B, C and D tee off. Player B’s drive is chosen as the team drive. Player B has to “step aside,” sit out, on the next shot. When on the green, all four players get to putt. Each player must use four drives.

Tournament awards and prizes will be handed out at a no-host lunch following golf. A boat or golf cart is being offered for a hole-in-one.

Those who choose not to play can still come out to meet some of the “Wounded Warriors,” service members who have been injured in the line of duty. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the non-profit organization Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), and support a full range of programs and services for this generation of injured veterans and their families.
