Men’s Golf

The Canyon Lake Men’s Golf Club held its annual Stag Day tournament last Saturday, October 3. Tournament Director Bill Levis announced the following results:

Gross score winners – A Flight: Brandon Mojarro, 67; B Flight: Tom Fuhrman, 79; C Flight: Bob Krause, 82.

Low Net score winners –  A Flight: Steve McCain, 61; B Flight: Leroy Nelson and Phil Coughlin tied, 65; C Flight: Ron Deckert, 60.

The Men’s Golf Club is a member of the Southern California Golf Association (SCGA) and holds regular open meetings the first Wednesday of each month in the Magnolia Room at the Country Club.

After Lunch Bunch

Twenty players competed in last week’s After Lunch Bunch game of Partner’s Best Ball. Results:

A Flight – 1st: Bob Stinson and Bobby Gunter, 58; 2nd: Randy Bonner and Jeff Roach, 60

B Flight – 1st: Lee Lilly and Jim Magill, 55; 2nd: Hub Watson and Bob Krause, 58

Skins winners Bob Krause, Lee Lilly, Bob Stinson, Terry Loy, Bobby Gunter and Randy Bonner.

While the course is closed for over-seeding, the ALB has arranged for three Friday games to be played at local courses: The Legends Golf Club (Temeku), Dos Lagos in Corona and The Golf Club at Rancho California (SCGA). To sign up, call Bob Stinson at 951-249-4565.

The After Lunch Bunch will return to regular Friday games on October 30, and will revert to the winter tee time of 10:15 a.m.

The weekly game is open to all Canyon Lakers with an established handicap. Signups take place on Friday mornings in the Magnolia Room, or by phone at 249-4565 or 237-6102. The entry fee is $5; there is an optional skins game for an additional $5.

Women’s Golf

The Women’s Golf Club meets regularly on Tuesdays to play 18 holes of golf. CLWGC is a member of the Women’s Southern California Golf Association, responsible for handicapping services for members. 9ers Golf

The 9ers Golf Club is a member of the Women’s Southern California Golf Association. The group tees off at 10 a.m. on Thursdays for nine holes of golf. Any level golfer is welcome, including those who’ve only had a few lessons. Be in the Magnolia Room 30 minutes before tee time. Family Golf Club

The Family Golf Club is a member of the Southern California Golf Association (SCGA). It holds open meetings the third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Magnolia Room at the Country Club.  Members play Wednesday afternoons. Applications for the Family Golf Club are available at clfamilygolf.com or contact Mary Leathley at 951-244-0114.
