Renaissance Faire

Attention blokes and wenches, knights and ladies: Holiday Harbor will be the site of the inaugural Renaissance Faire, hosted by the Jr. Women’s Club and the Family Matters Club on Saturday, October 17, from 1 to 5 p.m.

Everyone is invited to come in costume (or not) and enjoy music by the band Luv Buckit, along with games, contests, prize drawings, vendors and food and beer sales.

In the adult area, the JWC will offer dancing, adult games, beer sales and a prize drawing. A food booth will offer Rib Plates and Chicken Plates, accompanied by sides of corn and beans, as well as Beef Stew and Turkey Legs. Kid-friendly choices will be available; soda and water also will be for sale.

In the kid zone, children can purchase a $10 wristband to enjoy games, crafts, photo prop booth, tattoos and a castle jumper and dragon slide. They will make their own crowns, shields, swords, sand art and knight masks. Games will include archery, jousting and dragon-catching, and tickets can be earned to redeem prizes.

High school students may earn community service hours by volunteering to help with this event. To volunteer contact Jenny Teperson at 951-552-0055, or CLFMClub@aol.com.
