Final Learn to Ride Day declared a success

The Wakeboard Club’s fourth and final Learn To Ride Day of the summer was held last Saturday, September 12 under cloudy skies. More than 70 students of all ages, ranging from those who had never ridden to experienced and advanced riders, shared the enjoyment of the day and bemoaned the fact that this would be the final Learn To Ride Day until next spring.

According to spokesperson and photographer Mike Clary, several of the local pro riders and experts are still recovering from medical issues and were unable to participate, but many of the more experienced riders put on quite a show. “Mike says, “For the first-time riders, the rapid change between looks of sheer terror to expressions of delight was amazing. Sponsor-provided boats and board equipment were the highlights of the day and the expert teaching of the club’s board members contributed to a highly successful end of the summer party.” Visit www.canyonlakewake.com.
