Letter: Baine Family Fundraiser

Editor, The Friday Flyer:

We had a great time raising funds to try to help with the Baine family’s day-to-day expenses. Danny Baine was at the event (August 15 at the Country Club) to show his thanks for all the support for his family.

We had a guest speaker who has Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC) himself. He gave us some valuable information on how we can help others with PSC. He also gave ideas about how they live their lives and some of the day-to-day battles that no one would notice.

The Baine family would like to thank the Canyon Lake community for the successful fundraiser. We raised over $16,000 and could not have done it without the generous companies and families that donated to a good cause. There are too many to mention here without going over our word limit.

We would again like to thank the Waller family for letting us generate $5,200 at their 4th of July bike ride.

Please continue to support the Baine family! Canyon Lake needs to keep the Baine Train going! A Facebook page, “Staying Strong for Dan Baine,” was created to keep everyone informed about Danny’s journey and the family’s fundraising activities. Please remember to pay it forward; you will get it back 10 times over.
