Taco Tuesday kids on going back to school

The crowd at this week’s Taco Tuesday was a little lighter than it has been – perhaps because some regulars were attending the Board of Directors meeting in the Holiday Bay Room; perhaps because it was hot. Next week is likely to be even lighter as Canyon Lake kids attending Lake Elsinore Unified School District schools prepare to begin classes on Wednesday, August 12.

The Friday Flyer asked some of the kids at Taco Tuesday what school/grade they would enter next week. Each one expressed excitement about going back and about seeing friends again. Several were excited about advancing to a higher-level school.

With school beginning, it can feel like Summer is over. But it’s not. The weather is hot and the lake beckons residents to play. Also, Canyon Lake’s weekly summertime party, otherwise known as Taco Tuesday, is still going strong.

Plus, several big events are coming up in August. The Kids Fishing Derby is next Saturday, August 15; the Mermaid Festival is Saturday, August 22; and the Paddle and Pedal Regatta is Saturday, August 29. And then comes Maui Monday on September 7!
