Martha Woodring, age 90, passed away peacefully in Sun City, California with her husband of over 73 years, Howard Woodring, by her side.

She was born in Farmland, Indiana, on February 24, 1925. Martha and Howard moved with their young family to California in the 1950s, eventually retiring to Canyon Lake in the late 1970s.

Martha and Howard were proud charter members of the Canyon Lake Community Church, where Martha was a tireless volunteer, teaching Sunday School and providing nursery care, as well as leading Vacation Bible School each summer.

In addition to her husband Howard, Martha is survived by daughters Kathy Beaufort, Nancy Lewis and Brenda Crockett, and son Jim Woodring, as well as their families, which include spouses and more than 20 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Martha’s family would like to thank the kind staffs at Sun City Gardens and Hope Hospice for their care of Martha in her last days.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the Canyon Lake Community Church chapel on Friday, August 14 at 1:30 p.m.

The church is located at 30515 Railroad Canyon Rd. in Canyon Lake.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canyon Lake Community Church Memorial Fund.
