‘Find the Cure’ tournament is a success

On July 28, the Canyon Lake Women’s Golf Club hosted its annual Breast Cancer Tournament for the 17th year. Organizers say the ladies had a great time playing “goofy golf” for a very important cause. The $3,145 proceeds from this tournament will go to Michelle’s Place in Temecula, a breast cancer resource center for local women.

Tournament chairpersons Darlene Crinion and Betty Henry say, “On behalf of the Women’s Golf Club, we would like to thank the Men’s Golf Club, Lioness, Lions and CLIPPS for their generous cash donations. Additionally, we would like to thank the Canyon Lake Pro Shop, local golf clubs and our members for the gift donations.”

Darlene and Betty add that a special thank you goes to Donna and Brian Cannon for their donation of an Aqua Lilly Pad, which was auctioned off for $315. In addition, a gourmet dinner prepared by Canyon Lake lady chefs was auctioned off for $500, and a play and stay trip to Pismo Beach brought in $285.
