Get guest passes early for 4th of July weekend

The 4th of July weekend is just two weeks away, and those who have lived in Canyon Lake for awhile understand that advance planning is important when it comes to getting guests into the community on that busy day – not to mention expectations of hosting a gathering at Holiday Harbor.

The lottery for picnic pavilions at Holiday Harbor will be held tomorrow, June 20, beginning at 9 a.m. in the POA Conference Room. To enter, members must be in good standing. There are a total of 17 tables that will be in the lottery; only one table can be reserved per tract-lot. The rest of the park will be available first come, first served for residents to set up their own canopies and seating areas to watch the fireworks. The fireworks show is just across the bay at Skippers Island.

For those who expect guests to arrive for that busy weekend, getting passes into their hands prior to that day will go a long way toward helping them get through busy gates quickly.

Director of Member Services Susanne Cordeiro says guest passes can be ordered early and mailed to guests. Holiday passes, which are brightly colored so they are easy to see, will be issued, and additional staff will be walking the gate lines with iPads in order to validate passes and move the vehicles to the decal lane as quickly and securely as possible.

There are two lotteries coming up for the 4th of July weekend. One is for a campsite at Happy Camp; the other is for a picnic pavilion at Holiday Harbor.

Additional details about the 4th of July will be printed in next week’s issue of The Friday Flyer and at www.canyonlakepoa.com.
