Board establishes lake lease advisory committee

The Canyon Lake Property Owners Association Board of Directors voted at Tuesday’s regular session meeting to create a lake lease advisory committee. The official name of the committee is still to be determined. The recommendation on the Board Agenda was as follows:

“The Board of Directors found that the professional input, opinions and recommendations of qualified members of the Association are desirable with respect to the current litigation between the Association and the Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District and the litigation’s affect on the real estate market in the Association.

“Such members may include attorneys, real estate agents, water experts and other qualified individuals.

“In order to diligently obtain the input, opinions and recommendations of those qualified individuals, it must form an executive committee, which shall be made of said qualified individuals and members of the Board of Directors.”

Corporate Counsel Scott Levine said this committee will receive the same information the CLPOA Board of Directors is receiving with regard to the Lake Lease litigation. It will require a time commitment, and members must sign a document swearing them to secrecy due to the nature of the litigation.

Committee members will be significantly involved in the determination of the Association’s legal position in the dispute, and will advise the CLPOA Board of Directors as to its position and recommendations.

The Committee Application Form can be found at www.canyonlakepoa.com (click on Governance, then click on Committees and scroll to the bottom) or at the Member Services Offices.
