Canyon Lake one of ‘50 Safest Cities’

In a report released May 11, 2015 at www.safewise.com, Canyon Lake was listed at Number 42 in the 50 Safest Cities in California. It was one of only two Riverside County cities in the list, the other being Murrieta at Number 47. The report stated:

“The gated, master-planned community of Canyon Lake is part of Riverside County, which is known for its blooming job base, new homes, and quality schools. Canyon Lake also boasts an impressively high home ownership rate of 81 percent, and a median household income of almost $70,000. Above all, Canyon Lake is considered one of California’s safest places to live.

FBI Crime Report data reveals that Canyon Lake cited just three violent crimes in total, all of which were aggravated assaults. Canyon Lake reported no murders, forcible rapes or robberies, which is a claim only one other city on our list (Hillsborough) can make.
