Logan Gallagher

Logan Gallagher has obtained just about every accolade one can receive for the Temescal Canyon High School Water Polo and Swim teams, as well as being varsity captain for both.

He has played a lead role in four Sunbelt League championships in both sports, and has been named Team MVP, League MVP, All-CIF, All-League and All-Valley. He also is an Individual League Champion in all four of his events for swim.

Logan is the son of Greg and Gina Gallagher of Canyon Lake. His older brother, Jake Gallagher, played water polo at Temescal and now plays for Cal Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, where he is a sophomore.

Logan has been playing for his coach, Damien Andrews, since 6th grade. He has been a scholar athlete all four years of high school, maintaining a 3.8 GPA, with most of his classes in Advanced Placement (AP) or Honors level.

He recently was selected Student of the Month for April by the Elsinore Valley Chamber of Commerce and nominated for Student of the Year. He was selected as Athlete of the Season for the Fall semester.

Logan was awarded the CBAADA athletic scholarship at a luncheon at Cal Baptist University, and was told he would receive another academic award at TCHS. He’s been involved with ASB, PEER buddies, and is on the Principal’s Advisory Council.

Water polo has taken up most of Logan’s spare time, with practices running until 9 p.m. on weekdays and tournaments on weekends. Many nights involve homework until well after midnight. When he does have time off from water polo, he works at Jungle Island Paintball Park as a referee and guide.

Logan’s career goal is to become a firefighter/paramedic. He has volunteered more than 250 hours the past three years, on weekends and holidays, with the San Bernardino City Fire Department, where his father works. Once he gets his degree at Long Beach State, Logan plans to get his EMT certification, attend a fire academy and complete paramedic school.

It’s time to put a spotlight on graduating seniors
