The Ray Chenette Memorial Golf Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, May 30, on the Canyon Lake Golf Course. It is sponsored by the Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce to support Junior Golf. Organizers say this year’s tournament format will be a “Scramble & Ramble.” The first 13 holes will be played in scramble format and the last five will be scored as lowest score of foursome.
The Chamber would like to challenge all clubs and associations that are within the community to enter a foursome. This gives the bragging rights for the year to that club/organization with their name on the perpetual trophy.
Playing in this tournament helps support Junior Golf and the Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce.
Those not playing for the perpetual trophy will be playing for the 1st, 2nd or 3rd place trophy. Additional contests will include Hole-in-One, Longest Drive and Closest to the Pin holes.
For those who don’t golf but would like to support this effort, organizers are looking for raffle prizes and silent auction items for an evening awards buffet the same night as the tournament. They also are looking for businesses to become hole sponsors, which will be showcased with signage on the holes.
Information can be found at the Golf Pro Shop, Chamber office or other shops in the Towne Center that are Chamber members.
