CLAMS Golf Tourney

It’s not too late to sign up for the annual CLAMS Golf Tournament on April 19. All members and non-members are welcome to play.  Signups are available at the Golf Pro Shop. Players are welcome to put their own teams together. Handicaps are not necessary. Starting times are available between 10 a.m. and noon. The format is four-team scramble. After the tournament there will be a steak dinner and awards.

The dinner is $15 per person. No host drinks start at 5 p.m.; hosted dinner at 6. It is possible to attend the dinner without being in the golf tournament. It’s also possible to play in the tournament without attending dinner.

After Lunch Bunch

Results of last week’s Individual Partners Best Ball play were as follows:

A Flight – 1st: Bob Stinson and Carlos Ramirez, 57; 2nd: Norm Morrissette and Tim Brown, 58

B Flight – 1st: Bob Clow and Dale Willingham, 57; 2nd: Jim Musser and Ed Doidge, 59

Skins games winners in 18 Max were Bob Stinson, Tim Brown, Bobby Gunter and Hugh Wagoner. Winners in 31 Max were Marv Tweedy, Jim Musser, Joe Washle, Harry Larson, Chuck Hudson and Ed Doidge.

Next week’s game will be Three Best Balls of the Foursome; the committee will pick teams.

The weekly game is open to all Canyon Lakers with an established handicap. Signups take place between 8:30 and 9:15 a.m. on Friday mornings in the Magnolia Room, or by phone at 249-4565 or 237-6102. The entry fee is $5; there is an optional skins game for an additional $5.

9ers Golf

The 9ers Golf Club is a member of the Women’s Southern California Golf Association. The group tees off at 10 a.m. on Thursdays for nine holes of golf. Any level golfer is welcome, including those who’ve only had a few lessons. Be in the Magnolia Room 30 minutes before tee time. Family Golf Club

The Family Golf Club is a member of the Southern California Golf Association (SCGA). It holds open meetings the third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Magnolia Room at the Country Club.  Members play Wednesday afternoons.

Women’s Golf

The Women’s Golf Club meets regularly on Tuesdays to play 18 holes of golf. The CLWGC is a member of the Women’s Southern California Golf Association, responsible for handicapping services for members.

Clubs are invited to submit information and photos to news@goldingpublications.com by 5 p.m. Monday, earlier when possible.
