Novins visit the Dominican Republic

Christy, Mark and Trevor Novins flew out of LAX on December 30 for a vacation in the Dominican Republic. Christy says they chose that destination because they love to take vacations in the Caribbean and had heard a lot about the country.

One of the ways they learned about it was through a Storm player they sponsored a couple of years ago who was from the Dominican Republic. An excursion on this trip included a tour of Toros Baseball Stadium, home of a local professional baseball team.

Christy says, “It was great to see so many people around the area playing baseball as they dream of making it to the Major Leagues some day.” The excursion also included a tour of a tobacco plant, a church, an all-you-can-eat lobster lunch on a river boat and drive through the local countryside.

Another excursion they enjoyed was “Adventure Boogies,” a dune buggy tour at the beach and local hangout where they make chocolate, cigars and spices, followed by cave diving and swimming. “Even though Trevor is 15 ½, he got to brush up on his driving skills by driving the buggy,” says Christy. “We had a great time on our vacation doing the tours and just relaxing at the Punta Cana resort. They returned home January 6.
