Woman’s Club invites women to upcoming events

The first Fashion Show pre-party of the Canyon Lake Woman’s Club will be held Friday, February 13, at 5 p.m. at the home of Tammy Murphy. The theme is “Secret Agents” and gentleman spies are welcome. (For costume ideas, think “Get Smart,” James Bond and the Bond ladies). Please RSVP to Tammy Murphy by February 8 at tammymurphy@hotmail.com.

Each pre-party has its own theme and committee of ladies to provide decorations and free appetizers. Admission is $10, which buys a ticket for the grand prize drawing at the fashion show. Each drink is $10, which also buys a ticket for the grand prize drawing. (These events are for fun but also for the purpose of raising money for the club’s philanthropic endeavors.)

The dates and themes of upcoming pre-parties are as follows:

• February 27, 6 p.m., ladies and gentlemen – “An Evening with Austin Powers and his lovely Fembots”

• March 6, 4 p.m., ladies only – “These Boots Are Made for Walking” ((bring extra dollar bills to this one)

• March 26, 3 p.m., ladies only – “Yellow Submarine”

• April 10, 5:30 p.m., ladies and gentlemen – “Mad Men” outdoor cocktail party

Those who are not Woman’s Club members and would like to attend the pre-parties are invited to contact Lyne Hall at lyne@royalbash.com.

The next regular luncheon meeting of the Woman’s Club is February 18. The deadline for reservation or cancellation is February 8. The theme of the meeting will be “Mardi Gras Madness” and the speaker will be CLPOA General Manger Chris Mitchell. Vendors who would like to be there may contact Terri Ireland at 951-246-2571.

The Woman’s Club meets the third Wednesday of each month at the Lodge. It is a philanthropic organization dedicated to helping others in the community. The club also gives scholarships to local students to help them on their way to college. For more information, contact Membership Co-Chair Pam Oskey at 909-437-4468.
