Landscape workshops Canyon Lakers can take advantage of new free classes in designing or revising existing landscapes to save water, maintenance hours and money. The classes are being offered by Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District and will teach homeowners how to design sprinkler systems with lower maintenance, how to identify native plants and how to be efficient in watering and fertilizing. There will be a session on basic landscape design as well.
Seating is limited and the series begins on Wednesday, September 15, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the EVMWD offices, 31315 Chaney Street in Lake Elsinore. The September 15 class will be on basic landscape deign. On Saturday, September 18, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the class will be on California friendly plants; on Wednesday, September 22, from 5 to 9 p.m., the landscape sprinkler system session will be held. The last session will be on Saturday, September 25, for landscape watering and fertilizing will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Because seating is limited, reservations are a must. Residents can attend individual classes or all four. However, those attending the class need to call and make a reservation. No children can be brought to the sessions.
The classes can accommodate from 50 to 75 people. The same classes will be offered again next March. To reserve a seat, call 674-3146, ext. 8247.
