Scouts check out the March Field Air Museum

Wolf Den of Cub Scout Pack 346 recently toured the March Field Air Museum in their quest to learn more about their local community. They learned about the various planes and equipment used by the military and NASA, took turns sitting in the pilot seats and even took a try at a flight simulator.

The museum was founded in 1979 as March Air Force Base Museum. Originally operated by the Air Force, the museum’s operation was transferred to a nonprofit organization in 1996. There are indoor and outdoor exhibits, with more than 70 aircraft on display.

Cub Scout Pack 346 serves Canyon Lake, Canyon Hills and Tuscany Hills and is for boys in 1st through 5th grade. For more information on becoming a member of Pack 346, contact Lisa Zander at Lisazander@rocketmail.com.
