WHO TO CALL FOR HELP – When you’re in need of help, time is of the essence. Every Canyon Lake resident should have 911, the Riverside Sheriff’s Office (RSO), and Community Patrol programmed in their phone, and know the appropriate one to call for both emergency and non-emergency incidents. Having the phone numbers handy and knowing which one to call could greatly improve the response time when you need help.
• Residents should always call 911 in an emergency or if in need of an immediate response, be it law enforcement or fire. Never call Community Patrol in an emergency unless you’ve called 911 first.
• Residents should call the Police for non-emergencies incidents that pertain to the law and duties regularly carried out by Peace Officers. Do not call the Police for CLPOA Rules and Regulation violations. Community Patrol handles those matters.
• Residents should only call Community Patrol for matters that pertain to Rules and Regulation violations and for non-emergency incidents that would not be carried out by Peace Officers.
• Residents are not required to give their name when calling the Police or Community Patrol. The Police would prefer you to give your name and number in case they have questions for you later, but it is not required and you can remain anonymous if you choose to do so.
