Five applications turned in for Council seat

Five people have turned in applications for the City Council seat vacated by Nancy Horton after she was elected Division 1 Director with the Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District in November 2014. The five applicants are, in alphabetical order, Marvin Adler, Paul Chenette, Danielle Coats, Larry Green and John Zaitz.

The City Council voted to fill Nancy’s seat by taking applications from interested residents who are registered voters in Canyon Lake over the age of 18. Applications had to be turned in by 5 p.m. January 5. Late applications are not being accepted.

Applicants will be notified of whether or not they will be asked to interview on or after January 12. A special City Council meeting for the interviews and appointment of the new member will be held January 21.

The person selected to fill this seat will sit on Council for the two years remaining in Nancy Horton’s term. That person will join Mayor Jordan Ehrenkranz, Mayor Pro-Tem Tim Brown, and newly elected Council members Dawn Haggerty and Vicki Warren.
