The Canyon Lake Home Owners Club invites resi- dents who have street front holiday decorations to en- ter their homes in its annual Holiday Home Decorat- ing Contest. The club has been hosting the contest for more than 20 years.
Residents who enter the contest are asked to turn on their street front decorations on Dec. 17 from 6 to 9 p.m. as Home Owners Club President La Rue Mc- Namara and her trusty elves cruise the streets of the community to judge the homes. Only the homes that were submitted for the contest will be judged.
Residents may enter in the following categories: Humorous, Most Colorful, Religious, Musical Tradi- tions, Best Mobile or Best Street. Residents may also write in their own category.
Those who have taken the time and effort to deco- rate their homes for the holidays will be recognized for their efforts with a doorbell plaque. The club will award a special plaque to one Overall Sweepstakes winner.
Residents who would like the club to take special notice of their street front decorations should email their name, address, phone number and decoration category to LaRue at yankee441@verizon.net no later than Saturday, Dec. 16.

Santa to greet residents from ‘hot rod throne’
Santa will once again greet families and wave to passersby from his “hot rod throne” on Sunday, Dec. 10 and Saturday, Dec. 16, from 5 to 7 p.m. in front of the home of Linda and Hans Weg at 24074 Canyon Lake Dr. North. Santa has been making this stop for the past nine years.
Residents are invited to stop by and visit Santa. Visitors will be treated to photos with Santa, holiday music, falling snow and candy canes.
