Carnival on Saturday
The Canyon Lake Family Matters Club invites the community to its annual Winter Carnival tomorrow, Dec. 2, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Holiday Harbor Park.
The event will feature a visit from Santa and his elves, crafts, face painting, train rides, game booths, falling snow, vendors and basket raffles.
The club will hold a free raffle for six Christmas trees. Winners must take trees home at the conclusion of the event.
There will be a special section for children to write letters to Santa, which can be hand delivered to Santa at the
event or be placed in a special North Pole mailbox.
The snack bar will be open and offer- ing holiday treats.
Vendor spaces are $35 plus a donated item for the raffle table. For vendor in- formation, contact Wendy at 760-888- 7512 or wendysduran@yahoo.com.
The club is seeking volunteers to help set up, work during the event and clean up at the end of the event. For volun- teer information, contact Tracy Casey at 951-265-2466 or tracykc@gmail.com.
Youngsters enjoy a ride on the Jolly Express. The train will be making an appearance again at this year’s Winter Carnival on Saturday.
FMC invites kids to submit letters, wish lists to Santa
The Family Matters Club is hosting its 4th annual Santa Letter and Gift Giveaway. The club is excepting letters and wish lists to Santa from children under the age of 18. Letters can be mailed to 29873 Mayflower Dr., Canyon Lake, CA, 92587 or dropped off on the porch between Dec. 1 and Dec. 18.
Letters may also be hand-delivered to Santa at the club's Winter Festival on Saturday, Dec. 2, between 1 and 4 p.m. Each child who sub- mits a letter will receive a custom letter back from Santa along with a special reindeer treat
to leave out on Christmas Eve.
"We will try our best to fulfill an item wish
on the list, however, sometimes Santa can- not make some of the items. In that case, we will choose something age appropriate for the child," said Family Matters Club Founder Shawna Bowen.
Letters to Santa are being accepted from all children, however, the club will only be de- livering gifts to children who live in Canyon Lake. Be sure to include the child's address in the letter
Children who submit a letter to Santa in care of the Family Matters Club between Dec. 1 and Dec. 18. willu receive a custom letter back from Santa along with a reindeer treat to leave out on Christmas Eve. u
