The final concert in the 2017 POA Concerts at the Lodge series will be to- morrow evening when rock and blues icon Rick Derringer takes the stage in the Holiday Bay Room. Concert-goers can look forward to an up-close perfor- mance and a Meet and Greet with the artist after the show.
Tickets for tomorrow evening’s con- cert are $30 for general admission; $55 for VIP tickets. Tickets can be purchased at the POA office. Tickets will be sold at the door if the show does not sell out.
Rick Derringer is a rock and blues Grammy award-winning producer and entertainer. He’s released 14 studio al- bums, three compilation albums and six live albums.
Rick was the lead guitarist and singer for The McCoys, who in 1965 record- ed the smash hit “Hang On Sloopy.” In 1969, Rick joined Johnny and Edgar Winter and in 1971 was featured on three hit records. He was the guitar play- er and producer of the hit album “They only come out at night,” which featured the number one Grammy-nominated monster hits “Frankenstein” and “Free Ride.”
Throughout the 70s and 80s, Rick ap- peared on numerous albums and toured with Alice Cooper, Richie Havens, Todd Rundgren, Steely Dan, Cyndi Lauper, Barbra Streisand and Kiss.
Rick has worked with “Weird Al” Yankovic, producing Al’s Grammy Award-winning songs “Eat It” and “Fat,” and with the World Wrestling Federation, penning entrance songs for Hulk Hogan and Demolition.
In 1970, Rick recorded “Rock and Roll Hoochie Koo,” which became a staple of 70s rock music compilations and classic rock radio.
Charlie Torres and Kenn Moutenot will be performing with Rick.
One Guy & A Chick, featuring Can- yon Lake residents Aprile Deanne and Steve Adler, will open the show.
Aprile was the solo opening act for Berlin when they played at the lodge in June. She was so well received that Con- cert Producer Doug Schultz is bringing her back as her well-known duo One Guy & A Chick. Their song list for the upcoming concert will include an eclec- tic mix of recognizable hits.

The Rick Derringer concert will be the eleventh concert in the series since it’s inception in 2015. Johnny Lee, Da-
vid Cook, Hal Ketchum, Collin Raye, Suzy Bogguss, Darryl Worley, John An- derson, Berlin and Ty Herndon have all performed at the POA’s “Concerts at the Lodge.”
Doug Schultz, the producer of the POA’s concerts, said concert goers can look forward to the announcement of the 2018 POA Concerts at the Lodge line up.

Elsinore High School Flying Tiger Jr. ROTC will post the colors. Cub Scouts will be passing out the flags and pro- grams again this year. Cub Scouts will also be collecting old flags for proper
disposal.
A floral wreath will be placed at the
Veterans Memorial Monument and will remain there for a week for all to enjoy. One rose for each Canyon Lake veteran who passed away this year will be placed in the urn next to the monument along with one rose for the unknown veterans.
A free drawing will be held for veter-
ans to win a “Quilts of Valor” quilt cre- ated by the Canyon Lake Quilters.
Pastries and coffee, compliments of the POA, will be served prior to the ceremony and hot dogs, compliments of Canyon Lake Market and Coldwell Banker, will be served after the ceremo- ny.
With an expected crowd of 500, resi-
dents are encouraged to arrive early. Golf carts will provide shuttle served for those who need assistance getting from their car to the seating area.
