JWC to host 3rd annual Rocktoberfest Oct. 21
The Canyon Lake Jr. Women’s Club (JWC) will host the 3rd annual Rockto- berfest on Saturday, Oct. 21 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Holiday Harbor Park, 22180 Village Way Dr.
Rocktoberfest 2017 will feature beer tastings from local microbreweries, vendors, live music featuring Moon Shot, food from The Urban and oppor- tunity drawings.
Beer tasting stamp cards cost $20 for 18 tastings. “We’ve had a good response from the breweries, so we’re able to of- fer more tastings per stamp card this year,” said JWC President Alissa Rack- straw. Tastings are for those 21 years old and over; ID and wristband will be required. Proceeds from this fundrais- ing event will help to support the com- munity beautification and philanthropy projects that JWC has planned for the year. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Las Vegas Victims Fund.
Vendor spaces and sponsorship are available. Vendor spaces are $25 plus a donation of a raffle item for the oppor- tunity raffle. For vendor information, contact Julie Aguirre at 951-265-9722.
For Sponsorship and donation infor- mation, contact Kim Whitlow at 714- 345-2452 or kjwhitlow@verizon.net. For general information, contact Alissa Rackstraw at 951-265-4325 or alissa@ engr.ucr.edu, or visit the club’s website at canyonlakejwc.org.
JWC is a non-profit philanthrop- ic club that holds fundraising events throughout the year to help fund schol- arship programs, help local families in need, donate to park improvements in Canyon Lake, and more. To learn more about JWC, attend the club’s next meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 8, at 7 p.m. at 30155 Point Marina Dr. or con- tact Heather Rose at 951-591-8168 or heatherrosett@yahoo.com.
CLCT presents ‘Beatles, Brits, and Brunch’
Canyon Lake Community Theatre (CLCT) presents “Beatles, Brits, and Brunch,” a showcase of British music sensations, on Sunday, Oct. 22, in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. Brunch will be served at 2 p.m. followed by the show at 3 p.m. Brunch will feature tea, scones, rich and creamy Devonshire cream, assorted jams and more.
Tickets for brunch plus the show are $35 for adults; $20 for children. Ticket must be purchased in advance. General admission tickets for the show only are $15, $12 for students and seniors (over
age 65) and $10 for children under the age of 12. General admission tickets can be purchased at the door.
CLCT has begun its annual benefac- tor drive and is looking for community members to join its Benefactor Circle. Since the start of this local non-profit organization in 1993, CLCT has put on many quality productions for the community. CLCT has sent Dorothy over the rainbow, helped Peter Pan to fly, and more recently brought the com- munity through Willy Wonka’s beloved chocolate factory.
CLCT is currently looking to replace its antiquated equipment in order to con- tinue providing quality theatre as well as an outlet for local talent to showcase their skills and abilities. Quality sound and theater equipment are quite costly and CLCT needs the community to help raise funds to keep the organization go- ing.
Benefactor Circle levels begin at just $150. Members of CLCT’s Benefactor Circle will be recognized in show pro- grams, receive a business ad if you are a business benefactor and receive tickets
to the upcoming production of “Beatles, Brits, and Brunch,” For more informa- tion on becoming a benefactor or for show tickets, contact CLCT at canyonla- ketheatre@gmail.com or 951-821-6767.
The purpose of the CLCT is to pro- vide the community with access to the performing arts by providing a platform and showcase for local talent. The orga- nization engages and entertains the com- munity by providing theatre experience for all ages, from all youth productions to its musicals under the stars.
