Rev up your engines, cruise over to Canyon Lake Car Show tomorrow
Hundreds of cars will cruise to the lodge tomorrow for the 12th annual Canyon Lake Car Show. The Car Show is hosted by the Canyon Lake Car Club and Canyon Lake POA and considered one of the largest annual events in Can- yon Lake. The event opens to the public at 9 a.m.
Organizers say more than 300 pre- 1977 classic and custom cars and trucks will be on display. The show will also feature more than 20 vendor booths, music by High Energy Sounds, oppor- tunity drawings, awards, Car Cruise and post-show Dinner Dance.
The lodge will open early and offer breakfast and lunch. The outside bars will be offering Car Show drink spe- cials.
Awards will be presented at 3 p.m. in front of the Information Booth. A to- tal of 27 trophies will be awarded. The members of the Canyon Lake Car Club are not eligible to win trophies. Their cars and trucks will have a Do Not Judge sticker on them.
Trophies are given within the fol- lowing classes of cars and trucks: 1900- 1928; 1929-1936; 1937-1948; 1949- 1954; 1955-1964; and 1965-1976.
There will be three trophies per clas- sification; One Best of Class and two Award of Excellence trophies will be awarded per classification. These 18 awards winners are judged by their peers. Each registered car and truck get one ballot. Ballots are turned in by noon on the day of the show. The
dignitaries from the POA and City also choose four clas- sics and four addi- tional trophies are given. Five special trophies, custom made by a local art-
ist, will be awarded
for Best Paint, Best
Body, Best Engine, Best of Show and a special “Sam Foose” award.
