Senior Center Holiday Boutique is this weekend
The Holiday Boutique features an assortment of handmade and homemade items by 50 vendors.
Residents are invited to “shop till they drop” at the 16th annual Holiday Bou- tique this Saturday and Sunday, Novem- ber12and13,from10a.m.to4p.m.at the Senior Center.
This two day event, sponsored by the Senior Center Committee, features an assortment of handmade and homemade items by 50 vendors. Along with the usual holiday decorations, candles, knit- ted and quilted items, dog wear, plants, jewelry, kitchen decor and trinkets, there will be the ever-popular homemade jams, candies, breads, salsa and fudge.
This is the time to shop for the hol- idays. Need a centerpiece for your Thanksgiving table? Hostess gifts for those upcoming holiday parties? Stock- ing stuffers? Something unusual to give the boss? This event will have hundreds
of unique handcrafted items for shop- pers to choose from.
This popular annual event gets bigger and better every year; shoppers are lined up outside the Senior Center before the doors even open. There is so much to see that many shoppers attend both days of the event.
Cash and checks will be accepted. Credit cards will only be accepted for purchases of $50 or more. Proceeds from the Holiday Boutique benefit ac- tivities at the Senior Center, such as the Senior Center Christmas party.
A POA spokesperson says parking at the Senior Center during this event will be designated for shoppers only. The Burning Tree Dr. gate will be open dur- ing the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days.
The “True Willie” Willie Nelson Tribute Concert, sponsored by the Can- yon Lake Fine Arts Guild, is tomorrow, November 12, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Holiday Bay Room at the Lodge. “True Willie,” is said to be “the most authentic Willie Nelson Tribute Band in Ameri- ca.” Critics say Roger Hegyi looks and sounds so much like the ‘True Willie’ Concert is tomorrow at the Lodge leg- endary country singer, they could have been twins separated at birth. You can see Roger in the current Volkswagen television commercial as they play “On the Road Again.”
The evening will include music from Willie’s iconic song book, including
“On the Road Again,” “Always on My Mind” and “Mammas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Cowboys.”
VIP tickets with reserved seating are $45. General Admission (and Benefac- tor) tickets are $25. Tickets are avail- able online at brownpapertickets.com, 800-838-3006, or at the POA Office ($25 tickets only).
For more than 15 years, the Canyon Lake Fine Arts Guild has been commit- ted to bringing quality musical entertain- ment to the community at a reasonable price. The Guild offers four concerts at the Lodge per year, and plans to offer a free summer concert at Holiday Harbor in 2017.
