THE FRIDAY FLYER A-3
If residents who picked the top response in
the Association's Long Range Master Plan
get their wish, a water feature will return to the front gate.
Long Range Master Plan Survey Results
Who knew the water fountains at the Main Gate would be so sorely missed already? If those who picked the top response in the CLPOA's recent sur- vey get their wish, the water feature will rise again after being added to the Long Range Master Plan. The other top choices in the survey include purchasing property out of the North Gate, dredg- ing the lake, installing natural gas lines and bringing concessions to the pool and lake.
"The survey will help to improve our property values and build out the re- maining community facilities," Facili- ties Review Committee (FRC) Chair- man Steve Libring says. "Let's continue to work together to make Canyon Lake a better 'Bit of Paradise'."
The Long Range Master Plan Survey that the committee conducted will be used to gauge the community's interest in future community enhancements as part of a proposed master plan and will be reviewed further by the Association for future development.
Now that the survey is completed and the data tabulated, the FRC plans to be- gin their analysis, Steve says.
The survey asked members to select the top five amenity enhancements they would like to see included in a commu- nity Long Range Master Plan. The en- hancement suggestions were gathered from eight workshops the FRC held in
June and August. It received 130 sug- gestions for community enhancements from residents and members of the com- munity's active clubs and committees. The suggestions were converted to a sur- vey and published on the Association's website and other social media sites for two months and was also available at the POA office.
Approximately 345 lots participated in the survey. Not all 130 suggestions on the survey were capital improvement projects for the Long Range Master Plan, but more of operational issues, ac- tivities or services.
The remaining list will be the subject of preliminary discussions and analysis by the FRC to determine potential space location planning, in order to "reserve" that space in the Long Range Mas- ter Plan, according to the Association. Some suggested amenities have a natu- ral fit for where they may potentially go, and the Long Range Master plan would attempt to balance amenities so that all undeveloped land could potentially re- ceive some future improvements. Even- tually, costs will be determined, funding options explored and concepts submit- ted to the Board for consideration. For now, the survey results are the prelimi- nary data the FRC will be using to begin formulating a plan.
"On behalf of the entire FRC, I would like to thank everyone who participated
in the Long Range Master Plan Survey," Steve says. "We couldn't have done it without your participation."
Other suggestions appearing in the Top 10 on the survey were: renovate the Country Club, pre-gate structure at Main Gate (aesthetics), fitness park – trails for hiking/biking, Canyon Lake entrance signs at all gates and sidewalks on major streets.
