SEPTEMBER 30, 2016 THE FRIDAY FLYER A-3 Darryl Worley performs tomorrow at Lodge
It’s not too late to buy tickets for to- morrow’s concert starring country mu- sic artist Darryl Worley. The concert be- gins at 7 p.m. at the Lodge.
Darryl Worley takes pride in mak- ing a difference in the lives of those around him. He has spent much of his career giving back to the men and women overseas. Darryl wrote the heartfelt song, “Have You Forgotten,” following the tragic events of 9/11. It became the biggest hit of his 15-year career, reaching Number 1 in its fifth week on the charts where it remained for seven weeks. Worley will perform the song at the Lodge, as it remains one of the most anticipated highlights of his live shows.
Worley’s six albums have produced 18 singles on the Billboard Hot Coun- try Songs charts, including three Num- ber Ones: “Have you Forgotten,” “I Miss My Friend” and “Awful, Beautiful Life.”
“Concerts at the Lodge” promoter Doug Schultz says, “Darryl will have a meet-and-greet after the show with ev-
eryone who attends the concert. CDs and T-shirts will be available for purchase.”
Darryl plans to have dinner at the Lodge before the show. “He loves that we are serving a country-themed buffet the night of his show,” says Doug. “He will be cruising the lake the following morning before flying back home.”
Lance Allen, a local singer songwriter on his way to Nashville, will be opening the show.
Tickets for the Worley concert are available now for purchase at the Mem- ber Services office (credit card trans- actions only) during normal business hours, or by visiting www.canyonlake- poa.com. Tickets also will be available for purchase at the door.
VIP tickets are $55 per person, which includes express entry with preferred seating closest to the stage and a private VIP bar. VIP Members automatically will be entered in a special VIP-only drawing for a chance to win an auto- graphed poster board signed by Darryl Worley. General Admission tickets are $30 per person.
Residents invited to ribbon-cutting at Outrigger
The Association invites residents to a ship-themed ribbon-cutting ceremony at Outrigger Park (23950 Outrigger Dr.) today, September 30, at 1 p.m.
The playground installation at the park is now complete. The new play- ground design is a ship-themed playset complete with wind sails and a match- ing swing set. The installation of mod- ernized play equipment makes this playground more accessible and family friendly.
Outrigger’s previous playground equipment and climbing structures were outdated, and in need of replacement and enhancement. At the Association’s July 7, 2015 Regular Session Board Meeting, the Board approved replacing the outdated equipment.
Preparation began in December 2015, when the outdated equipment was removed. The ship-themed con- ceptual design was presented to the community at the April 5, 2016 Regu- lar Session Board Meeting. This park is one of several that have been updated as part of the Association’s Beautifica-
tion Initiative, introduced in 2013.
